Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These terms cover work performed by RKServicesPDX (“we”, “us”) for our customers (“you”). By requesting a quote, scheduling work, or using this website, you agree to what follows. We've written this in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us before we start.

What we do

We provide smart home installation (cameras, networking, lighting, automation) and exterior pressure washing services in the Portland, Oregon metro area.

Quotes & pricing

Quotes are good-faith estimates based on the information you give us. If we find something on-site that changes the scope — hidden damage, harder-to-reach areas, more square footage than expected — we'll pause, show you what we found, and confirm the revised price before continuing. We never tack on charges silently.

Scheduling & cancellation

We'll confirm an appointment window in writing (text or email). Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule — that lets us fill the slot. Same-day cancellations are fine in emergencies; if they become a pattern we may ask for a deposit before booking again. Weather delays on outdoor work are our call and never billed.

Payment terms

  • Larger jobs (above $500): a deposit may be requested when you accept the quote. The deposit is credited toward the final invoice.
  • Balance is due on completion. Payment is processed through PayPal — credit card, debit card, or PayPal balance. For larger projects we can also accept ACH transfer or check by arrangement.
  • Invoices not paid within 14 days accrue interest at 1.5% per month, capped at the maximum allowed under Oregon law.
  • No surprise charges — every line item on your invoice will match the approved scope.

Satisfaction guarantee

If you aren't satisfied with the work, tell us within 7 days of completion and we'll come back and make it right at no additional cost. This is a guarantee on the work we actually performed — it doesn't cover pre-existing conditions, normal wear, or damage caused after we leave. See /about for more on how we work.

Property & liability

Before starting any job, we walk the property with you (or document it ourselves with photos if you're not on-site) so we have a record of pre-existing conditions. We carry liability insurance for damage we cause through our work. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, latent defects, items not disclosed in advance (buried sprinklers, fragile siding, etc.), or consequential losses outside the scope of the job. If something goes wrong, contact us within 48 hours so we can document and address it.

Limitations

We don't perform structural work, roofing, electrical work requiring permits beyond low-voltage smart-home wiring, or anything outside the scope of what's listed on the site without first discussing it with you in writing.

Website use

This website is provided as-is. We try to keep pricing, service areas, and availability current, but content here is informational — a binding quote is always sent to you directly. The customer portal (when available) is for your account only; don't share your sign-in link.

Limitation of liability

We carry liability insurance and stand behind our work, but to the maximum extent permitted by Oregon law, our total liability for any claim arising from a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost profits, lost data, downtime, etc.). Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or anything that cannot be limited under Oregon law.

Dispute resolution

We'd much rather talk than litigate. If you have a concern, email contact@rkservicespdx.com or call (971) 757-0248 first — we aim to resolve issues within one business day.

  • Small claims preserved: either party may bring a qualifying claim in the Oregon small claims court for the county of your residence — currently a $10,000 ceiling under ORS 46.405.
  • No mandatory arbitration. We do not require pre-dispute binding arbitration for consumer claims.
  • No class-action requirement. We don't ask you to waive participation in class actions, though we hope it never comes to that.
  • Other claims proceed in the state or federal courts of Multnomah County, Oregon, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes that affect work already booked will be communicated to you directly.
