We also program tunable-white scenes that match Portland's actual daylight pattern. Warm 2700K at night, cooler 4000K in the morning. My house is older — can you still install smart switches?
Usually yes. Lutron Caseta switches don't require a neutral wire, which older homes often lack. We assess your wiring during the consultation.
Do I need to replace all my bulbs?
With smart switches and dimmers, no — your existing bulbs stay. With systems like Hue, you replace bulbs with smart ones. We'll recommend the right approach for your situation.
Can smart lighting work without Wi-Fi?
Lutron uses its own radio protocol (Clear Connect), so it works even if your internet is down. Zigbee-based systems like Hue also work locally through a hub.
Can you tie lighting into existing automations?
Yes — Lutron and Hue both integrate with HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings. We set up the integrations during install so the scenes work from day one.
